Alexander S. Asser, MD, FACC, FHRS
Dr. Alexander S. Asser is the Director of the Electrophysiology Lab at Shady Grove Medical Center. He grew up locally in Potomac, MD. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He obtained his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. He returned home to the D.C. area and completed his medical internship and residency at George Washington University where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. Dr. Asser then remained at GW where he completed his general cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology fellowships. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases as well as Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. As an Electrophysiologist, Dr. Asser performs all facets of arrhythmia management including implantation of permanent pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders as well as complex ablations to treat arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. He has served on the editorial board of a cardiovascular journal and has served as an abstract reviewer for the American College of Cardiology. He has given numerous lectures and authored both book chapters and articles.
